Services

The projects that Tallo Information Centre is currently undertaking with the Somali community can be grouped into two areas – activities for young people and services for adults.
Tallo is a community advice centre in South Acton Estate.It gives advice and information to refugees and asylum seekers in West London but anyone is welcome to use the services.
Tallo houses different statutory and voluntary organizations with the aim of providing advice and information to its users, this agencies include Councillors Surgreis, Social Services, Connexions(New Arrivals project), Ealing Primary Care Trust, Sahil Housing Association, Ealing Mediation Service, Ealing Racial Equality Council, Safer Neighbourhood Police, ActionActon, Ealing Homes, ADFAM and more

Our current services are:

* Welfare advice & information (Free confidential advice & information IN General Help) (twice weekly for 30 clients)
* Somali Youth Club & Somali Girls’ Club (weekly for 60+ 13-19 year olds)
* Somali Summer University (13-day intensive for 60 14-19 year olds)
* After-school homework club (3 hrs/wk for 16-20 11-14 year olds)
* Youth Employment Training (4 hrs/week for 15-20 15-16 year olds)
* Partner in initiatives/partnerships, including Pathfinder/Preventing Violent Extremism, Digital Challenge, Ealing Supplementary Schools Consortium, and others.

We are currently developing new services and undertaking capacity building to become a wide-ranging service provider for the Somali community. These include community cohesion and capacity building, preventing violent Muslim extremism, further youth mentoring, and others.
We are a member of Advice UK, Ealing Advice Forum, Refugee Council, Youth & Connexions, ADFAM, LASA, ECN, ECVS, National Resource Centre for Supplementary Schools, NCVO and LORECA. Tallo have a strong working relationship with ECVS, EREC, Action Acton, Acton Community Forum, Acton Advice Forum, Ealing Somali Confederation and other voluntary organisations including Acton Vale Somali Community, West London Somali Society and Access for Support & Development Centre
